sick

I have been sick as a dog since Sunday night.
A fever and aches and pains all over.
It has been lovely...
Seriously sick like I couldn't get up and when I did it took all I had to do so.

I did manage to rip the wallpaper out of Sara's room
and scrub down the walls yesterday.
All the while thinking I might die... and
if they found me laying there dead on the ground..
well at least I went doing something productive.

Okay, these are really odd thought to be having while scrubbing walls of wall paper paste.

I HATE WALLPAPER.

there I said it .

And while I am at it... I really do LOVE some wall paper. I mean it is lovely.
but preparing a room for paint after it has been papered is a PAIN in the rear end.

Well, I am happy that when I woke up this morning I was fever and ache free.
I am quite certain that I will over do it today and end up back in bed.
 Tomorrow is my (bday)
I am not looking forward to it.
I just feel old.
YUP that is right.
I feel old.
and feeling a bit depressed about the whole affair.

Oh well.

I did receive the coolest bday gift ever from Jen!
An amazing necklace she had made for me and I adore it.

I will put a picture up tomorrow.
since I am being very lazy and haven't taken my camera out...

poor neglected camera.

Well, that is all.
going to make a bunting out of chalk cloth and laminated cotton.
Heather Bailey Nicey Jane  Laminated Cotton to be exact.

I need  get my craft on ... makes me happy.
Helps me to feel better.

Ahh Crafty goodness.... is there anything better????

and here is my crafty partner in crime...

don't ya just love out squinty faces.

Proverbs

Have you ever read Proverbs? Well, if you haven't go get your BIBLE and crack
her open to the book of Proverbs.

There are so many truths in that book it is pretty amazing.
I need to focus on a lot of these...
How about this one in
Prov. 27:15-16 A quarrelsome wife is like a constant dripping on a rainy day; restraining her is like restraining the wind or grasping oil with the hand.
WOW, a constant dripping.... that sure puts it into a perspective that I hardly ever think about....

I love this one.. Proverbs 10:8 The wise in heart accept commands but a chattering fool comes to ruin.
Man I certainly can be a chattering fool and a constant dripping at times.

There are Proverbs on wisdom, patience, money, temper,
controlling ones tongue (this is the one I need most)

I need to get into it.. ya know?
I need to just dive head first into the Word of God.
Before I do anything else.

HOW do you start your day? Do you begin it with our Father and His Word?

A post about nothing ....

So this was going to be a post about Father's day...
But I started to look through my photos....
And I found these photos of the last real family vacation we took to
Virginia.

I heart Virginia.

I couldn't believe how little the kids were.
Especially Maddie.

and Emily.

and Sara.

It was such a fun trip.

My goodness, I love to remember these moments.

Then I started to see more photos...
of our Baby Madelyne.

Then I came across this one.
Maddie reminds Dom and I a lot of my Grandma.

So bittersweet to go thru your photos.
It is fun remembering just how far they have all
come. And it is hard missing
Grandma. How she loved her  great grandkids.

So Happy Father's Day to you Dom.

Thank you for sharing this life with me.

Thank you for being the husband and Father that you are.

I love you.

project gone a wry.....

Sometimes things just don't go the way you want them to...

And here I have the perfect example.

No, this project was not going to look like this...

I ended up with a mess.

But perhaps tomorrow I will get the palm sander out and

take all that mess off.

Oh well....

Better Luck Next time.

The end.

laughing

So Laughing...

It seriously is the best medicine.
Just makes you feel GREAT.
You can't help but smile while you
are laughing.
It is a whole body experience.

but you need a goofy friend to laugh with
 and who laughs with you.

*I hate hate hate pictures of myself.. so This is a really hard post for me ...
In the last 4 years I have become really insecure about myself.
(I am just keepin it real here people.)
I had a 3rd baby and never got back to were I wanted to be...
I also feel like I have aged about a billion years in that time.
I hate seeing pictures of myself... It reminds me of what I am not anymore.
((young))

Sorry for all that self loathing... Just keepin things real.
anyway back to the laughing
and the photos...
Jen the crazy Wannabe Crafter
& I

used my camera remote for a little photo shoot.
in a  really really old cemetery.... like 1600's old.
COOL BEANS.

I have a hard time making odd faces...
here below is one of them..
Seriously, does anyone else have a hard time with this??

Here is Jen laughing at me being such a dork!
(I am also laughing at what a dork I am)

See Jen, well she is just awesome at making these crazy impromptu faces...
Look at me marveling...

Really... pretty goofy.

Here I was trying to club her with a stick....  but yet I am smiling... so odd.
yet in someway ... so AWESOME.

this next photo is a fine example of our friendship...
We will be talking and one of us runs off to take an amazing photograph....
Seriously. We just stop mid sentence and take the shot.
(we both do it)

I believe that I am thinking... Man, That is a great shot. Wish I had
seen it..

And here she just gets up and goes... Leaving me

Alone... HA..

Anyway, It was an awesome day filled with many laughs.

the end.

Zippers

So who knew zippers were so fabulous....

Okay, well, our daughter, Sara, says she has always loved and adored them.
(Does that last sentence have way to many comma's??)
((I am out of control.))

anyway,
we picked up some zipper trim...
Yes, zipper trim.

I got her a yard so it was 3.95.
Have no idea if that is a good deal, but I figured we better start
garage saleing for notions, like zippers now...

By the way, does anyone know if garage saleing is such a word?
I figure it is the verb for : To Garage Sale...

WOW A D D BRAIN in action folks.

sorry

Here we go back to zippers.
They had a book for 15 dollars that Sara thought we should purchase with
the zipper trim...

I literally laughed out loud....

"You silly, silly little girl,
that is why we love bloggers.
We will find a FREE Tutorial on Zipper Flowers"

I told her.

So we came home and I googled Zipper Flowers, Voila
hundreds.... popped up.

We did change it a bit and use hot glue.
And she wanted a headband but...
Was happy when I found 2 alligator clips
(that sucker is pretty heavy)

So, Although I assisted her
this creation is SOOO Sara.

Her sister Emily's comment this morning was,
"why, didn't you make me one"
That's 17 year old talk for ( she likes it )

way to go my beautiful and crafty Sara Lynne.
Oh how I love you.

*sorry about the crappy pictures.. seriously, I had just rolled out of bed and I think I may have been still sleeping a little.

The End.

Something I am going to miss...

Something
That I am going to miss is...

Taking photos with Jen.

(Bear with me... people I am sure you are all
getting tired of hearing how Jen is moving away)

Seeing her love her Baby Girl, Aubrey.

I love that we find the same things beautiful.

I love that we also can spend an entire day kid free just enjoying taking pictures...
or looking for fabric or garage saleing....

(do I sound obsessed? Sorry)

I love that she can share her crazy ideas with me... and I don't
think they are crazy at all.

Gonna miss this classy gal!
and her family too....

The end.

Roses

Jen and I took a field trip.
We only have a few left... so we have to make them good.
We went to the historic hudson river valley.
Lyndhurst, in Tarrytown.
It is breathtaking.
The Rose garden is from 1911.
Oh, what a time we had.

We were in our GLORY

Can you imagine the amazing aromas from 400 different types of roses?

Unreal.

Some of them looked so perfect that they didn't look real.

I think I like the pale pinks and yellow the best.

I couldn't believe how many resembled Peonies.

These reminded me of crepe paper.

Beautiful.

We spent hours walking around the grounds.
If you are ever in the area
It is worth a trip.

The entire trip was wonderful.
I am going to miss our "adventure's"

Have a Glorious day.

The End.
