I just saw the neatest idea ever..... okay well maybe not as good as sliced bread but pretty darn close.

You see it all began in the Fall when our church had a fall festival /Flea market type thing. Our Pastor had a table and was selling his wares... (Apparently he collects antiques) I eyed 2 of his things. One was an enamel top kitchen table, which my Mother bought me as an early Christmas gift : ) yay I L-O-V-E it. The other was this old arched window. It was so beautifully perfect to me with all it's imperfections. It had distressed paint 2 of the window panes were missing, but I just fell in love with it. I know, I know we shouldn't fall in love with objects but I just couldn't help myself. anywhooo He wouldn't budge on the price, so after haggling for what seemed an eternity, I let it sit there leaning against the table and walked away from it. Chipped paint and all. Thinking I would never see it again.

Fast Forward to Christmas Morning. My sister told me that my gift had gotten stuck in the chimney and I had to go outside on the porch to see what it was..... (she got me good I had not a clue that, that was my gift) I walked out that door and saw my perfect window! Thanks Beth : ) you are so thoughtful and I love you my Big sister : )

So anyway I have been trying to decide where to hang it since that day and then this morning I was reading my blogs and saw this wonderful idea! WHen I am done I will hang it in the dining room and post pictures! SO excited to get started. Not today, but one day soon.

Life

Ahhh to be 10 almost 11 again... NEVER! You couldn't pay me enough that I might even consider it. Sara just came down and was crying about something that happened in school. Ya know I will never ever understand why girls are so very mean! Things don't change they are just mean about different things then when I was growing up. Let us for instance take cellular phones. My husband and I are apparently the few parents left that think that a 10 year old doesn't need a cell phone. Sara informed me that there are only 4 other children in the 5th grade that do not own cell phones. I guess this was the big christmas gift for kids of her age group this year. (I don't know, but when I was ten for Christmas I think that I still thought Barbies and dolls were cool. I believe that I got my doll house for Christmas that year and my father and I spent countless hours building it. ) oh well. I think Sara got some pretty cool gifts this year. And they all had to do with things that she really enjoys doing. She wanted so badly to receive "The Art of French Cooking" by Julia Childs and I made her a beautiful apron to go along with it and she received her first whisk (which by the way I got yelled at for using..lol) So these are the gifts that she will remember things that are near to her heart. (I know that sounds so lame but Sara loves to cook and watches Julia everyday) As much as it hurts to be the kids that doesn't have what every other kid has it teaches her a valuable lesson, which being her Mother we talked about (all the while big, fat, hot, tears rolled down onto her cheeks. ) Making me want to say alright Sara lets go and pick out a phone) .... but I did not. (Good Parenting, Amy).... oh me oh my....... this too shall pass ... in about 10 more years.....

The tall one.. (Emily) is mad at me because I wouldn't let her watch some series that was discussing teens having oral sex... so she went to bed at 8:30 because I am just so terrible that I wouldn't let her watch that show. Good Grief what a night. Oh well, this to shall pass... sooner then later... God willing.

On a side note, Madelyne, the one that I often refer to as crazy hair, let me blow dry her hair after her bath this evening, I actually didn't want her to go to bed with a wet head. All the while saying "to loud, honey Momma" that is what she calls me... it is very funny. Anyway, her hair even when being pulled straight wanted to curl.... lol I couldn't beleive it myself. this is what we got.

Happy New Year

This year has been a hard one. Those who know me now why. There have been many blessings in 2009 and many sad times for me. I hope that 2010 is a better year. I also cant believe that it is a new decade. in 2020 (WOW) Emily will be 26, Sara will be 21 and Maddie will be 12. I cant even think about how old I will be..... (could even be a Grandma in another decade... Now that is a truly scary thought. I hope to be a better person and accomplish something.... I have some ideas of what I would like to accomplish .. I would like to train and run a marathon, I would like to have a gallery show of my photographs.. I would like to open a fabric and quilt store named the Scrappy Geese. So those are some of the things I would like to have accomplished in the next 10 years. Hopefully sooner......

I have learned ( & relearned) that sometimes when your growing it hurts... It hurts really bad but When we lean on the Lord he will get us thru anything.

Another Time

I am not sure where you are, but it is brrrr freezing here.

So I am sitting here drinking my morning Joe and imagining I was here ( in the pictures below)

It happens to be in Williamsburg, VA. Colonial Williamsburg is soooooo lovely. I adore it. It is a walk back in time. I have always loved historical places. I guess I always thought I was born in the wrong era. Anyway, I thought I would share some of my favorite photos from our journey to a different time.

Here is our oldest, Emily Elizabeth. She has toughness about her, yet knows just how to make me laugh and smile.

Here is our middle baby, Sara Lynne. I know that is odd "Baby" but she was my baby for 8 years before Maddie came. So to me she will always be my special baby. The one who just makes everything all right. The one who can hug you and make your heart skip a beat.

And last but far from least, our teeny tiniest baby, Madelyne Lily, a gift that we thought we would not be receiving but are so very happy that we did. Can't even imagine our lives without this one. She is as stubborn as her oldest sister yet so sensitive like her middle sister. She makes us all laugh and laugh and laugh. Oh how we love her. All of us.

This is sooooo Maddie. She ran in the other room and grabbed the mic.... I guess she thought this should be her shinning moment.... lol

Dom was standing next to me trying to make Maddie stand still for the pics... all 237 of them. Great job, Honey! I love you.

Maddie decided to give Sara some hugs during the photo shoot! lol
