America the beautiful

I have just driven about nine hours. I left NJ this morning at 9 And arrived in VA at 6 this evening. I can't seem to get over as i was driving all day the beauty of this land that God created for us. Driving thru Pennslyvania, Maryland, West Virginia and Virgina was amazingingly beautiful and lovely. The green of the fields, the way they roll.... The glorious mountains... I mean come on. We live in one beautiful country. I couldn't help think about the
Song, O Beautiful Spacious Skies
I crossed the mason dixon line.. That to me was so dang cool! I wish i had been able to stop my car on the highway and walk back to take a picture of it.... Driving with 2 teenagers and one toddler... Interesting. Thank goodness for Red Box and the i pad. maddie entertained herslef for hours with the ipad... And best part of the trip so far..... Driving with 2 teenagers and 1 toddler.
We are at the hotel now... Maddie wants to go home to bed... Hehe. And she wants her Daddy.

My wonderful husband, let me go on this trip... He had to stay home and work. Emily stayed home too. She also had to work... I miss both of them already. Maddie has never been away fromher Daddy this long... Woill let you know how that goes... And my sister let my neice Gracie come with us. Sara can't stop telling how excited she is... So funny. This is gonna be a fun 11 days.

So since i am on the road, by the way going to visit JEN, YAY......., i have no access to putting up photos, so i will leave you with the lyrics of this amazing hymn written in 1904.

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain;
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood,
From sea to shining sea.

O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved,
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine,
Till all success be nobleness,
And every gain divine.

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam,
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self control,
Thy liberty in law.

That totally made me well up! The lyrics to that song are beautiful. And you're right.....what an amazing country you live in. God is good! I feel the same about England, everytime we have gone back to Canada, and then when we land back home, I am always completely AWE-STRUCK at the beauty of it all. What an incredible creator we have!
Enjoy your trip with Jen. Wish I was in that car with you :( What great memories are being made!
Safe journey!

Yay! You're on your way!! Considering who you had in your car(not the actual people, but the ages of those people!) sounds like it was a great drive so far! Glad you got to Virginia safe, I've been praying. And I've got one excited little girl over here ready to see you guys too (and me:)). She's been telling me what she wants to wear and how she wants her hair done! Too funny!
I told you that drive was magnificent! Zach and I talk non-stop about the beauty around us when we are driving that stretch!
